The Kinship of Care
What is a piece of furniture? A static, moveable, but dead object. Placed in a household to facilitate comfort and support for us humans. The Kinship of Care is a design inquiry into the topic of care with furniture in collaboration with IKEA, young adults and the forest. This project is guided by slow design principles to bring us down into now and make the invisible visible. Once we are grounded, together, we can explore new(old) ways of caring with living and non-living beings that surround us. Can we reimagine what our furniture can mean to us? What if I told you that furniture can become alive, playful, and caring? Would you play, tear, and care back? Come with me and explore playful, caring practices with your furniture and get inspired for your own play, tear and care through a moving zine.
Play, Tear, n’ Care!
