Am I arguing for shrinking rich countries’ economies in this book?
-I sure as hell am.
The personal is highly intertwined with systemic realities. This book is an attempt to bring this connection into focus and to communicate the urgency of a system change. I think it is high time to take the conversation further and discuss what type of system change we want to see. What will we keep? What is important?
This book is a contribution to the Degrowth Movement which advocates for not only abandoning economic growth but the growth paradigm as a whole. My book is focusing on the bioeconomic limits to growth and other benefits shrinking the economy can have on human well-being.
